VELMA DINKLEY

I took a break from cosplay and this is my first one back! Loved Scooby growing up and the most important part of cosplay according to me is research... Meaning I spent a few hours re-watching old episodes 😇

It started out as a group cosplay and so it felt natural that I would be Velma. Actually finished preparing in November last year but decided to postpone the photoshoot until April. This because I love the contrast with green behind the red and orange. And for that, I needed to wait for spring.

The making of Velma

Next time I'll be sure to take more progress pictures, but I have a few from this one. This is the first time trying on the wig.

The color was a bit darker than I had expected, but other than that I'm really happy with it. Had some problem with fallout, but for the price (think this was about 20 dollars) nothing too bad.

A few days later it was time to try the glasses, this is probably the part I would change if I ever feel like taking more pictures. They're too big and clumsy.

The top also started out as white. Used Nitor all in one in the shade orange to dye it.

Another fun thing, another first, was trying brown lenses. My natural eye color is blue, and previously all circle lenses I have tried have been blue as well. Over on my instagram (@sophielovelace) I have two photos of hazel eyes with my own blonde hair. Liked it a lot.

Makeup wise I keep it simple. Velma doesn't strike me as someone who would spend too much time looking pretty when there is mysteries to solve. However, on the day of the shoot, I totally forgot to do freckles! Didn't realize until I looked through the photos.

Added a red skirt, orange knee socks and red shoes and the look was pretty much complete. Have more photos on my instagram, still more to come but don't want to bore you with only Velma all at once.

I had an amazing time both making and shooting Velma. The response from you guys was so sweet and I want to say a huge thank you for that.

Hope you enjoyed and feel free to leave a comment, would love to know what you think of this cosplay, ideas for future ones or maybe something you wished I'd done differently.

Love, Sophie ♡

Avengers Infinity War

I don't think words can describe how excited I've been for this day. As a marvel fan I have been excited for the previous Avengers, but now with my all time favorite Guardians of the galaxy?! Wow.

Needless to say I am one happy bunny right now! What a night ♡

My local cinema (the best one in Stockholm) is located in this very cute neighborhood all dedicated to Swedish film history. It also happens to be the home of my favorite sushi restaurant, so logically that's where we spent the last hour before finally watching Avengers Infinity War!

I look happy (I mean really, you can literary see the excitement on my face) even though they messed my order up a bit. On days like this, it doesn't even matter.

The budget for this movie was a staggering $300 millions. With every single face coming up on screen belonging to a big Hollywood star and (mostly) great special effects it's not hard to understand. Three years later and what an amazing job they have done. The eyecandy is never ending and it's so beautifully made. Every time I watch a movie that inspires me this much, it makes me miss working with film so badly and I hope one day I can be back in the business.

I wish Rocket was my best friend and partner in crime and I would be totally fine marrying any of the Chris (or all of them).

Without exaggeration, this one goes down as one of my top 3 movies of all times. Incredible job and if you haven't seen it yet, do!! And if you have... Well I wanna watch it again already, you coming?

    Hello Sydney

    Hey there homies!

The last couple of weeks I've been forced to make due with the worst internet connection. Therefore, it has been impossible to upload videos on my youtube channel. However, today I realised that I actually might be able to do some blogposts!

I've been living here in paradise for 11 weeks now. Being a real tourist,  I have been to the majority of the famous landmarks like Opera house, Blue mountains, Royal national park and so on. Here is a picture I took on my very first day:

If you would be interested, I'm thinking about starting from the beginning and telling you about the highlights from this trip under a new category appropriately called "Travel". I really miss uploading videos, but will continue to film here and upload when I get back in mid April. Hope you are all well and know that I love you.

    Lush enchanted eye cream review

    Time for another review!

Lush will always have a special place in my heart. When I see a product of theirs that I have yet to try, I get quite thrilled. However, I do not love them blind. I will always give you my honest opinion.

I have mentioned this product before in some of my videos, the enchanted eye cream. It's made of lavender honey water, organic cold pressed almond oil as well as jojoba oil. Hydrating and soothing it helps keep your skin moisturised and firm.

The formula is very light, and can be used both morning and night. I applied it before bed every night, and under my eye primer whenever I did my makeup.

The result was that the makeup stayed on better, and my skin was left in a better state after removing it. It also helps against dark circles under the eyes. I am cursed with both dark and intense circles under my eyes, as I have very thin skin. However, in different to many other eye creams, this did not leave me puffy or oily!

The package is nice with a pump (talked about the benefits of this in a previous review on the mac cream) and lasts forever. I have used it frequently and the only reason I stopped was that the deadline date got the better of me. So for the price, you get a lot. And of course, since it's from lush it's totally cruelty free!

    Falling for the hype

I have finally brought home a real technique brush! The brush I went for is the expert face brush. Cross my heart, I actually need a new foundation brush and it was on sale so I think that justify it.

I have yet to try it but I have high hopes, partly because of the hype. Although I had my eyes on it before. The hair is much shorter than on most of the foundation brushes I have tried and working as a makeup artist, I have tried a fair few.

The fact that it's made from synthetic hair was crucial for me. That it's designed by Youtubers is a plus according to me, self explained YouTube addict! The sisters of Jim Chapman did great and I will give my honest opinion and write more about it once I've tried it, even though I'm probably the last person on earth to try it.
