VELMA DINKLEY

I took a break from cosplay and this is my first one back! Loved Scooby growing up and the most important part of cosplay according to me is research... Meaning I spent a few hours re-watching old episodes 😇

It started out as a group cosplay and so it felt natural that I would be Velma. Actually finished preparing in November last year but decided to postpone the photoshoot until April. This because I love the contrast with green behind the red and orange. And for that, I needed to wait for spring.

The making of Velma

Next time I'll be sure to take more progress pictures, but I have a few from this one. This is the first time trying on the wig.

The color was a bit darker than I had expected, but other than that I'm really happy with it. Had some problem with fallout, but for the price (think this was about 20 dollars) nothing too bad.

A few days later it was time to try the glasses, this is probably the part I would change if I ever feel like taking more pictures. They're too big and clumsy.

The top also started out as white. Used Nitor all in one in the shade orange to dye it.

Another fun thing, another first, was trying brown lenses. My natural eye color is blue, and previously all circle lenses I have tried have been blue as well. Over on my instagram (@sophielovelace) I have two photos of hazel eyes with my own blonde hair. Liked it a lot.

Makeup wise I keep it simple. Velma doesn't strike me as someone who would spend too much time looking pretty when there is mysteries to solve. However, on the day of the shoot, I totally forgot to do freckles! Didn't realize until I looked through the photos.

Added a red skirt, orange knee socks and red shoes and the look was pretty much complete. Have more photos on my instagram, still more to come but don't want to bore you with only Velma all at once.

I had an amazing time both making and shooting Velma. The response from you guys was so sweet and I want to say a huge thank you for that.

Hope you enjoyed and feel free to leave a comment, would love to know what you think of this cosplay, ideas for future ones or maybe something you wished I'd done differently.

Love, Sophie ♡

Avengers Infinity War

I don't think words can describe how excited I've been for this day. As a marvel fan I have been excited for the previous Avengers, but now with my all time favorite Guardians of the galaxy?! Wow.

Needless to say I am one happy bunny right now! What a night ♡

My local cinema (the best one in Stockholm) is located in this very cute neighborhood all dedicated to Swedish film history. It also happens to be the home of my favorite sushi restaurant, so logically that's where we spent the last hour before finally watching Avengers Infinity War!

I look happy (I mean really, you can literary see the excitement on my face) even though they messed my order up a bit. On days like this, it doesn't even matter.

The budget for this movie was a staggering $300 millions. With every single face coming up on screen belonging to a big Hollywood star and (mostly) great special effects it's not hard to understand. Three years later and what an amazing job they have done. The eyecandy is never ending and it's so beautifully made. Every time I watch a movie that inspires me this much, it makes me miss working with film so badly and I hope one day I can be back in the business.

I wish Rocket was my best friend and partner in crime and I would be totally fine marrying any of the Chris (or all of them).

Without exaggeration, this one goes down as one of my top 3 movies of all times. Incredible job and if you haven't seen it yet, do!! And if you have... Well I wanna watch it again already, you coming?
