Mac complete comfort cream review

A few months back I bought the complete comfort cream from Mac. Before writing a review I always use  the whole product to be able to give fair judgement and let my skin get used to the product.

It's supposed to be for sensitive skin and reduce redness, but contains fragrance which for some, including me, can make the redness worse. My skin felt constantly irritated and every time I applied it I felt this sort of short burn.

The only positive thing is that it worked better on dry skin than oily. I have oily skin myself, but as a makeup artist I got the chance to try this on a client who had very dry skin indeed.

The package is another letdown. It's a simple round jar, without a pump. This is a mistake for two reasons. We have the standard bacteria spreading, every single time you put your fingers in it, but even if you avoid that, most of the active ingredients, the antioxidant and vitamins, break down in contact with air. So the package makes this product decrease drastically in quality once opened. Without these ingredients working fully, the product won't be able to do what it says.

Since june when I bought it I have made a commitment to only use cruelty free products. Mac however still test on animals. I refuse to be part of millions of suffering just because of human vanity, but that is a completely different story.

Hope this has helped you and please let me know your thoughts about this product, Mac or anything else you can think of. I would love to read it!

  1. Great post! How do you find out of the manufacturers test on animals or not?
